2 month check-up

Whoa, do I have a big baby on my hands! This past Thursday we went to see Dr. F for Saylor's 2 month check-up. Here are her stats:

Weight: 13lbs, 6.5oz (I know right?! I knew she was gonna be 13lbs, the girl is a bottomless pit!), 95 %
Height: 25.5 inches , 95%
Head circ: 16 in, 90%

She gained almost 5lbs, and grew 4 inches in a month and a half! I've been packing away her outgrown clothes like crazy for the past week, she's too long for most of her 0-3 and 3 mos sleepers and pants, we've moved on to the 3-6 and 6 mos sleep and plays.

This was the night we came home from the hospital, so she was 3 days old...

And here she is, 10 weeks later, same sleeper, but soo much bigger!

Where does the time go?! Idk, but it's been a great 2 months, I love this little girl so much and it's so hard to remember life before her!

Happy 2 months baby :)

Haha, this pic cracks me up :) I love my little doll baby!

My mom and I found this tutu last week (much to my husbands dismay :) ) and I LOVE it! Pretty sure Saylor will be rocking the tutu look a lot more!!

We go to the dr on Thursday for her 2 month checkup...can't wait to see how much she has grown since her 2 week check up!

Thrown off our "no schedule" schedule

Ah, the past 3 days have really taken a toll on Miss Saylor! We don't have a set schedule, but we tend to have a method to the madness around here. Well, a galbladder surgery, 30th bday, 2 month photo shoot, and out-of-town-visitors can really throw us off! Usually Saylor will wake and eat, then let me eat while she plays a bit in the swing, then she will nap, then wake up and eat, and then play, and sleep, and thats how it goes. I had gotten her to where she would nap every 2 hours-ish. Sometimes her naps would last 2 hours, and sometimes 20 min! But, this weekend naps=FAIL! Little Miss Priss has been so afraid she would miss something that she would not let herself go to sleep, which led to a weekend full of fussiness! Poor thing, she is usually a really good baby, but bless her heart she was just worn out.

My sister Leesa had her galbladder removed on Friday (she's home and recovering nicely) so I had a sweet friend offer to watch Saylor for a bit so I could go to the hospital and visit. That was the first time leaving her with nonfamily, and I had a nagging sense of guilt and I missed her like crazy!!

Then Saturday Anna came from Athens to visit and meet Saylor for the first time (which I did NOT get a pic of the 2 of them, sad!) and it was Stephen's 30th birthday, so we spent the day running errands and trying to decorate the house and cook dinner for him. Saylor was not helpful, ha, bless her heart she just wanted her mama to hold her :) She was however, perfect while we were running errands, I was so proud of her.

And today was her 2 month birthday, so I had to get her little outfit ready for growth pictures. Then we had more visitors. She got to see (Aunt) Cheney again (no pics of this either!!), and Mimi and Papa. Well, by that time she was so done! I spent the better part of today trying to get my poor tired baby to sleep, between my mom and I, I'm pretty sure we tried everything we could think of! But my little social butterfly was not having it at all, ha! I guess we're gonna really be in for it when Saylor learns to talk, from the way it looks now, this little girl is going to be quite the chatterbox :)

Sleeping Beauty

I was so proud of my sweet girl today, she put herself to sleep and took a substantial nap today IN HER CRIB! Whoohoo! I was one happy Momma :)

Getting in touch with my crafty side...

So, I know that I just blogged about my lack of ability to make hairbows, but apparently I can make hair flower clips! They are super easy, and super cheap to make. All you need is a flower (duh), a hot glue gun, a 3ish inch piece of matching ribbon, and some kind of hair clip (I used an alligator clip).

Ok, I got these flowers from Michael's craft store. I think they were like $1.99 a piece, but they were 50% off :)

I just pulled the stem off, it was fairly easy, then cut the plastic part off that was left sticking out of the back.

Then I cut my white ribbon, 3/8 inch grosgrain, and hot glued it to my alligator clip.

Finally, I just hot glued the flower to the ribbon covered alligator clip, and that's all! So easy, and took like 5 minutes to do, which is great since I have a 2 month old that likes to take 10 min naps!

Here are the finished flower clips

And here they are on Saylor's cute hairbow holder :)
I also managed to even make a (gasp!) hairbow today as well! Haha, more on that later. Maybe I should start back thinking of names for my Etsy store, ha!

i LOVE hairbows

Way before I got pregnant I had this idea that I wanted to make hairbows. In my head I imagined that I would be really good at it, and that I could make cute hairbows and accesories for my little girl (before I knew I was going to actually have a little girl). I was already brainstorming names for my Etsy store, because I was going to be so good at making cute hairbows that I would sell them and make like tons of money. HA, riiiiight! Well lets just say that I do not have the patience or the ability to follow what seem to be easy directions, I mean who knew making hairbows could be SO HARD?! Well, clearly at least for me!

Anyway, here is little Miss Saylor modeling a cute hairbow that was not made by me!
This was the first time since she was like 3 days old that I tried to put a headband on her. She didn't love it, but she didn't hate it either.
I think that we will stick to just the hairbows, I hate to cover up her pretty hair :)
