A few of my favorite things

It's Show Us Your Life Friday at Kelly's Korner! Today is things that you love/ make you happy.

Of course number one, I love my God!

Then, my sweet family :)

I love me some iced coffee! Yummy! Some days I drink more of this than water

I definitely LOVE Target! That place totally makes me happy :) And, I think little Miss Saylor loves it too, haha I'm sure Stephen loves that!

I love my sweet friends

I love helping people however I can

I love wearing jackets (ha, weird I know), but I prefer fall to summer

I love being crafty, even though I am not that good- I still love to satisfy the urge :)

I also love giving presents, but sometimes I need a little help with ideas. If you're like me I have a solution! My friend L is totally crafty, and makes all kinds of cute things! If you're looking for a father's day gift, or a baby gift, or even a little something for yourself you should totally check out her etsy store, Cutesy Crochet and Paper Crafts! She has everything from sweet little crochet hats and blankets for babies, to holiday and home decor! If you see something you really like, head over to my friend Rebekah's blog- she's doing a giveaway- if you win, you get an item of your choice from Cutesy Crochet and Paper Crafts!!

Thanks for letting me share a few of my favorite things with you, I'm looking forward to reading a few of yours!

Time is not on my side

Ugh, time is something I never seem to have enough of. Some days just go by so fast, and yet it seems like I get nothing done. Other days I have so much to do that I wish I could get by without sleeping at all. Saylor will be 6 months old in a week, and I wonder where did these past 6 months go?! I hate that I always feel so rushed; I want to slow down and enjoy every minute, every day because her babyhood is just flying by! If time could just stop so I can clean the house, put up the laundry, clean my car!!, organize my gazillion photos on the computer, scrapbook Saylors first 6 months, make some hairbows, and have 2 seconds of me time that would be great!! I would much rather play with and hold my little baby than do the dishes, but they must get done! Ha, and some days by the time nap time rolls around I'm so exhausted I just want to nap myself, but those days are gone!

Saylor is getting so big, so fast, I just want to soak up every second! She's quickly becoming more and more independent, and it's such a bittersweet feeling- I mean, she's only 5 months old and she prefers to hold her own bottles!!

bad hair day

Haha, poor kid :) Between her cowlick and increasing little bald spot, some days I just can't make it behave!

And, just so you know I didn't let my poor little baby go around all day looking crazy, I managed to somewhat tame the crazy.

big girl with her sippy cup!

Fun with the cricut

Today went by too fast! I went and spent the afternoon at a my friend Leslie's house while Saylor spent some quality time with her dad.

Oh my goodness, did we have fun today! Leslie and I had some much needed girl talk and then we did some crafting, because thats what we do :) We tried out a new cricut cartridge today, and we loved it, ha we had too much fun playing around with it! How cute are these little critters?!

I hate to say anything, because I certainly do not want to jinx it, but Saylor has become a SO much better sleeper! For the past 2 weeks she has been STTN, and it has been quite wonderful :) Naps still leave a little to be desired, but she usually has at least one good nap a day, so I'll take it!

Playing peek-a-boo before I took the bumpers off for good.

I swear, this child thinks her crib is a jungle gym sometimes!

Now that my child has started sleeping better, I guess I should to, ha!

A very long overdue Mother's Day post

Well, I'm only a week and a half behind but, I had an almost wonderful first Mother's Day. It didn't turn out exactly like planned, but it was exactly like I had expected, but I won't go there...

My mom, Saylor, and I went to church and had lunch with my mother's side of the family in Jackson. I won the award for the youngest mommy at their church. It was pretty funny, I was trying to hide, but when you're the only person in a congretion of about 50 with a baby, I guess you tend to stick out?! But, hey, I got a giftcard to WalMart, ha :)

Here Saylor and I are at my grandparent's house. (Since Stephen was at work I made her be my twin for the day, haha!)

And, I can't complain that my hubby didn't do Mother's Day right, because he totally did!

He's really good picking out jewelry, from day 1 he's done a fantastic job. Funny thing is, I am totally not a jewelry person, haha but I do love my wedding rings!
Anyway, the earrings were nice, but I had my little doll baby with me, and my mom, and that was all I needed!

Picture Tag

Rebekah tagged me in a game of photo tag.

Here's how to play:

1. go to your photo files, select the 8th photo folder.

2. select the 8th photo in that folder.

3. post that photo along with the story behind it.

4. then pick some blogging friends to do the same.

This was taken right after Saylor was born. Best. Day. Ever!!
And for fun, here is our first family photo :) Gah, she looks JUST like her daddy!!

Ok, here's the deal, I don't have many blogger friends yet, so TAG you're it anyone reading, haha!

5 months!

Saylor, you are 5 months old today!

You get sweeter and funnier everyday! For the past two days, you haven't stopped laughing, and I love it! You are becoming quite the roly poly, I can't keep you on your back, everytime I lay you down, you promptly roll right over to your tummy. I'm afraid to leave you alone, because I don't know what kind of position I will find you in when I come back! You are almost hugging now, it's so sweet how you put your little arm around out necks and then bury your little face in our shoulders. Also, you must really like shoulders, because you always seem to be trying to eat mine!

You are barely fitting into 3 month clothing, you wear mostly 6 months and a few 9 months here and there. You are almost busting out of size 2 diapers, but hopefully we will be able to use up the ones we have left first!

You really enjoy making noise, I mean singing :) And the past few days you have learned how to squeal? I don't quite know how to describe it, but it sure is loud. I can see a little chatterbox in our near future!

You are eating mostly formula these days, thank goodness we found one that agrees with you! You are starting to eat solid foods now, but you really could care less about rice cereal I have decided. You get so excited when you see the spoon coming at you, but the second you taste it, you give me a look of pure disgust, ha! Today you tried carrots for the first time, and I think you really liked them! You got mad when I wasn't feeding you fast enough!

This was before, all nice a clean...

...and after, what a mess!

You really are such a doll, and have brought so much joy into our lives! Everyday is something new with you, and I'm looking forward to what's in store for this month with you, sweet girl!
And I almost forgot! Yesterday I took Saylor to get her ears pierced! I was a bit of a wreck, but Saylor did pretty good. I think she fussed more because she was hungry, as soon as I gave her the bottle she calmed right down, and has been smiling ever since. The earrings look great, I'm glad we did it!

Show us your baby name

Over at Kelly's Korner its show us your life Friday and the topic is baby names. I love this, so I had to participate :)

I have been dreaming of my children's names, for pretty much ever, haha. So, when it came time to actally name my child, I was so thrilled! I did not realize how stressful it would actually be! My husband and I could not seem to agree, I looked up baby names for hours on end every night from July to December! We had a boy name we both liked- Jackson (I know its really popular now, but we got married in Jackson, SC so I still wanted it because it had a meaning to us) but we could not agree on a girl's name for anything! Finally, we had it narrowed down to Lila Kate or Saylor Kate. I liked Lila because it was a family name (which I did not know at the time I picked it out, ha I had just finished watching season 3 of Friday Night Lights and was really liking the name!) but for years I have loved the name Saylor, I think it is so cute and different, but not totally out there. So, we went to the hosptial without a name (gasp!) I was waiting to see her name to make a decision...but, we really were leaning towards Saylor Kate because her initials would be the same as ours.

Of course, we ended up naming our sweet baby girl Saylor Kate, and it totally fits her. Although, poor kid will probably getting really tired of correcting people for calling her Taylor, but such is life :)

Cinco de Mayo firsts

The first time I saw my little baby doll was last year on cinco de mayo. Not only was my pregnancy confirmed, (yay!) but we got to see a picture of our little doll and even hear her little heartbeat. Love, love, love!

And now, just a (short?!) year later here she is, and almost 5 months old!!

And, just for fun, here is this one. Yeah, I couldn't find her brush today. I swear, pregnancy took every last one of my brain cells!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

I can't wait...

...for Mother's Day!! I feel a little silly about how excited I am for Sunday, but I can't wait :) I've planned matching outfits for Saylor and I (and maybe my mom too?!). So far the weather report is looking awesome for my first real official Mother's Day; wonderful!! We're heading to Jackson for the day, my grandparent's church does a bbq, and it's a nice little get together with friends and family. I can't wait to experience my first Mother's Day as a mom, and I can't wait to share this special day with my mom! I love and appreciate her so much and want her day to be very special too!
